Sakshi Chopra is a third-year medical student at the Duke University School of Medicine and one of the recipients of the Snyderman/Moore Research Award for the 2025-26 year.

At the Center, her research focuses on the role of personalized healthcare in melanoma management and providing solutions to bridge the gap between high cure rates and the rising incidence of advanced disease in North Carolina, especially for at-risk populations such as Veterans and rural patients.

In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in dermatology and integrate her scientific and economic background to help mitigate social determinants of health for these vulnerable patients. She completed a B.S. in Computational Neuroscience and a B.A. in Economics at Johns Hopkins University.
